History is fun?! Yep, sure is! Join us Wednesday afternoon for a program where we tackle the whos, whats, wheres, whens and whys of the Brig Niagara - why is she so famous?
Well, we won’t actually tackle the boat, but we will learn a little about Erie’s maritime history, and the events that led up to the Niagara being the pride of the Gem City.
This program is free and intended for children ages 8 - 12; registration required.

Twenty years ago, the notorious warlock-pirate Captain Blackwake was defeated. Peace returned to the Mistvale Expanse—until now. A cursed map inked in Blackwake’s own hand has surfaced, pulsing with dark magic. You are the elite officers of The Relentless, a legendary ship of pirate hunters. Your mission: find the hoard and destroy it forever. A 3-session campaign designed to learn D&D from an experienced Game Master! Everything you need to play provided - just bring yourself and your imagination. There are six pre-generated characters, so players don't have to worry about how to make a character. Every player takes home a Complimentary Loot Bag with a full set of D&D dice, Themed stickers, and a custom-made, wood miniature of the character you play! This program is run by Tabletop Commons.
For teens ages 13-17. Registration is required. You are registering to attend all three sessions.

Bring the fastest earthworm in your backyard to Blasco Memorial Library's 8th Annual Worm Races! Children ages 3-11 are invited to race a worm on one of our special tracks. Worms will compete until we have a victor, and the owners of the three fastest worms will receive a small prize.
The library will provide some worms, but not enough for every racer. Try to BYOW (bring your own worm) in a small container of dirt. After the race, worms will enjoy a well-deserved retirement in the library's staff garden!
Registration required! Please choose ONE session and time. Visit events.erielibrary.org or call 814-451-6936 to sign up. Registration opens two weeks ahead of the event.
