Erie Philharmonic: Explores The British Isles

Season 2020 Episode 2 | 59m 23s

Classical music from the British Isles blossomed in the late nineteenth century and thrives even to this day. Some composers chose to capitalize on the cascading hills of the lush countryside or the immaculate gardens of a princely estate for inspiration. Others inflected their works with the liveliness of folk dances and melodies. Others still drew on the indomitable English and Celtic spirit.
