WQLN PBS NPR is a corporate sponsor for the spelling bee, which is an annual fundraiser for Hooked on Books for Kids. HOBFK provides thousands of books to children who need them the most.

Teams from various businesses compete during an evening at the local comedy club. This is a great opportunity to have a little fun, a few laughs, and some good food.

Venue: Kellar’s Magic and Comedy Club
Starting Time: Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for Happy Hour, good food, a 50-50 raffle, a Chinese auction, and tip boards. Food and drink available from Kellar’s menu.
Spelling Begins: 7:00 p.m., ends 9:30 p.m. or before.
Competition: Prizes for spelling champion and runner-up, best costumes, and most spirit.
Extra Fun: Chinese auction, tip boards, a 50-50 drawing, and a 50-50 “paddle” game at intermission
Tickets: Reserve in advance or purchase at the door. $10 each for supporters; team members are free
