The Lake Erie region is full of rich history, culture, and tradition—and now, it's getting some recognition. WQLN PBS NPR has received 7 Emmy nominations from the 54th National Academy of Television, Arts, & Sciences for its local docuseries Chronicles. Chronicles is nominated for 6 awards in 5 categories and the WQLN TV production for Erie Philharmonic Concert. Chronicles highlight the remarkable moments, places, and people that make the region unique.
Throughout Chronicles, viewers journey through the area's past, present, and future. The series features interviews with local historians, former mayors, artists, civic leaders, entrepreneurs, and others who have contributed to the area's growth and development. Chronicles is available to stream online through the WQLN PBS website and app. "WQLN is the smallest TV station in one of the smallest television markets in the country— for us to receive 7 nominations speaks volumes not only to WQLN but to the great work that occurs in Erie every day", Tom New, President/CEO of WQLN said.
The Chronicles and WQLN TV production team celebrate the Lake Erie region and how it has shaped our history and lives. The 54th National Academy of Television, Arts, & Sciences is held on June 17th, 2023, at LaCentre in Westlake, OH, but will be live-streamed.
