WQLN PBS KIDS Writers Contest invites kids to experience the hands-on process of developing their own stories and illustrations. By encouraging your child to participate, you are helping to promote the advancement of children’s literacy and language skills such as reading, grammar, syntax, and creativity.
The contest is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grades. First, second, and third place prizes are awarded in each grade level. Entries are accepted until 5pm on March 31. Pre K stories accepted, but will be judged at the kindergarten level. All winners in grades K-5 will be recognized at the winners reception in May.
Rules and entry form and resources to help your creative process can be found at WQLN.org/Writers. Contact Jennifer at 814-217-6015 or JAllen@WQLN.org for more information.
