Dec 05 Friday
Step back in time and experience the magic of Christmas past at the Warren County Historical Society's Victorian Christmas Open House on Friday, December 5 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Reflecting memories of family traditions, the Struthers-Wetmore-Schimmelfeng House has been beautifully decorated for the holiday season by the Warren Garden Club.
Enjoy light refreshments while listening to holiday tunes as John Bowler strums period songs on his 19th century parlor guitar. Tour the Victorian mansion to see the beautiful architecture adorned with holiday cheer. And children are invited to create popcorn strings in the old dining room and hang them on the tree in the old Bourquin Store.
Looking for gift ideas? Check out the historical society bookshelves for new publications, such as James T. Baumgratz’s just-released Unsolved Cold Cases from the Pennsylvania Wilds, or get ready for America’s upcoming 250th birthday bash with a biography of Warren County’s names, Joseph Warren.
The Warren County Historical Society is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. For more information, please call (814)723-1795, visit www.warrenhistory.org, or like our Facebook page.
