On Harry Burleigh’s birthday, Monday, December 2 at 7:00 P.M. the Cathedral celebrates the
Erie legend’s musical legacy with familiar Spiritual arrangements and lesser-known art songs
and secular choruses. We encourage a large audience to be part of this live-recording concert in
partnership with WQLN for their Chronicles documentary series. Burleigh’s musical career
began here at our Erie Cathedral where he sang as a boy chorister, thus the Cathedral Choir
celebrates our Burleigh connection in collaboration with Mercyhurst University’s Choirs,
instrumentalists, and vocal soloists.
