What Is Behind the Political Shift Reshaping Germany?

Season 2026 Episode 8256 | 18m 16s

A new threat to global institutions is rising in Europe. The far-right Alternative for Germany party, or AfD, made gains in regional elections, amid discontent over migration and the economy. Political scientist Ivan Krastev has studied the political climate in books like "After Europe." Krastev talks to Walter Isaacson about the far-right — and far-left — parties threatening European stability.
