No Black Women on the Trump NEA’s America250 List? They Made Their Own

When the U.S. NEA unveiled its America250 Big Read program, Marita Golden and Gwen McKinney realized there were no Black women on the list of authors. So the literary activists created something of their own. The Power Read 25 is a national reading initiative celebrating the lives and legacies of Black women through 25 biographies and reading programs. Golden and McKinney join the show to discuss.
