USAID, America's humanitarian and development agency, has been largely dismantled in the name of government efficiency. The consequences around the world are real, even fatal. Dr. Atul Gawande is a physician and former Assistant Administrator of Global Health at USAID. Gawande recently visited Kenya to see the consequences of DOGE's cuts firsthand. He joins Hari to describe what he saw.
