WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On July 26th of that year, in a championship game, Erie Boys Baseball Star Rick Federici hit two home runs, a double, a single and pitched a no-hitter for BF Fields’ win over Penn Ohio.
This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, nominated for seven Emmy awards, and available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app Passport.
