WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On July 3rd of that year, Erie County Parks and Recreation Director Pete Russo requested a no-parking ordinance for the north side of West Sixth Street. This was to keep cars from parking on the brand-new Erie to Presque Isle bikeway.
This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, nominated for seven Emmy awards, and available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app Passport.
