WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On June 27th of that year, construction of the Millcreek Mall began. Tenants included Sears, Halle’s, Penny’s, and Loblaws. With 125 stores, six thousand parking spaces, and thirty-five hundred jobs, the new mall would become the largest on the US Interstate highway system.
