WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On June 4th of that year, a tornado touched down near Pymatuning Lake. The twister picked up a southbound Penn Central Boxcar and tossed it into an oncoming northbound train. There were no injuries.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, nominated for seven Emmy awards, and available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app Passport.
