WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On May 21st of that year, a fundraising drive began to raise $2,500 to construct a Vietnam War Memorial in Downtown Erie. The goal was quickly met, and the memorial was erected near the Civil War monument in Perry Square.
This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, showing Pitt Hole City: Ghost of American’s Black Gold Part 2 this Thursday night on WQLN PBS.
