WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on March 6th of that year – A fire destroyed the building that housed the Triangle Shoe Store and Dweck’s Discount Store at the corner of Chestnut and Market Streets in Downtown Meadville. The building, worth $100,000, was a total loss.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, which is available online at WQLN.org and on PBS Passport.
