WQLN first signed on the air in 1973, and on January 4th of that year - High winds and blowing lake water caused severe flooding at Presque State Park. Park Superintendent Michael Wargo closed the park until the flood waters subsided and roads were passable.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles on WQLN PBS.
