WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On December 24th of that year, the historic Saint Cloud Hotel in Emlenton, Pennsylvania, was destroyed by a Christmas Eve fire. All that remains today of the hotel is a historic marker.

This Day in History is presented by WQLN’s Emmy-nominated weekly history series Chronicles. Available on WQLN PBS and on our TV app - Passport.
