WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On October 27th of that year, Erie’s East Access Association met with city and county officials to present their engineering study and plan to construct the Peninsula East Access Golden Gate bridge from Dunn Boulevard to the Coast Guard station on the Presque Isle.
This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. We return to Port Erie, next Thursday night on WQLN PBS and on our TV app - Passport.
