WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On October 22nd of that year, many Erieites reported seeing strange lights in the night sky. From West 26th to East 43rd Streets, people told police they saw hovering lights, bright flashes, and suddenly – the lights zoomed off to the north.

This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. The new season begins this Thursday, on WQLN PBS and on our TV app - Passport.
