WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On October 21st of that year, 27-year-old Republican Mayoral Candidate Richard Foht told the Erie Times-News that he sees no path to victory because he’s received no support from the Republican Party, has raised little money, and the current Mayor refuses to debate.

This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. The new season begins Thursday October 26 on WQLN PBS and on our TV app - Passport.
