WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On October 14th of that year, Jack Grazler, penned an Erie Times-News op-ed called “What in the World is Happening.” The piece speculated on the origins of the many UFO sightings and mysterious noises seen and heard in Erie over the past three months.

This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. The new season begins Thursday October 26 on WQLN PBS and on our TV app - Passport.
