This in-person, hands on workshop will be held at the PA Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Cemetery. Participants will be trained to properly clean old gravestones then be able to work on an individual gravestones--dating from the Civil war to present. All materials will be provided. Sessions are about two hours long and designed for ages 12 & older.

Registration is required; a morning (9-11am) and evening session (5:30-7:30pm) are available.

Participant Advisory: Wear old clothes, shoes and gloves (materials are non-toxic). This event is outdoors; bring sunscreen and water bottle. Event will be cancelled for severe weather only, light rain will still be held. There are no bathroom facilities.

Program Location: PA S & S Memorial Cemetery, 560 East Third St, Erie, PA. Please stop at the guardhouse first then proceed down the drive around the S & S Home, turn left onto the bridge then turn immediately to the right to the cemetery.

About the Presenter: Preservation Erie is an organization that believes the future of a region is deeply rooted in its past. Mary Jane Koenig is the chairperson of the Presque Isle Chapter DAR Service for Veterans Committee. Both are passionate about preserving history and respecting the final resting places of veterans.
