Whale Ahoy! Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary by discovering the unique history of American Whalers! Join us in the CLEER Science Lab at the Blasco Library, Saturday June 30th @ 2 pm.
Learn about the Native American origins of New England's great whaling ports like Nantucket and New Bedford. Understand how the Industry grew and the different types of products that made the fortune of sailors in the 1800's. See how whaling influenced the arts and culture in America and decorate your own whale charms inspired by the art sailors would make during long trips at sea.
This event is in collaboration with Ganon University's CLEER Center. It will take place in the CLEER Center's Science Classroom.
Free. Registration required. Ages 13 to adult. Anyone under the age of 15 will need to be supervised by a guardian. If you think you will need extra help, please bring a support person with you to this class.
