Iconic America to Premiere on WQLN PBS

"Iconic America: Our Symbols and Stories with David Rubenstein" is a new eight-episode series premiering this month on WQLN PBS. This series explores American history through an examination of iconic symbols like The Hollywood Sign and Gadsden Flag – and kicks off with Fenway Park. Rubenstein invites local experts and community members to examine how Americans engage with each of these icons, offering viewers a new perspective on how we tell – and retell – our American story.

“Fenway Park”

Baseball is America’s pastime and obsession, and no ballpark is more iconic than Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. The story of a city’s loyalty to its team and love for its ballpark through thick and thin.

“The Hollywood Sign”

The story of how a real estate advertisement erected in 1923 became an international symbol of fame, fortune and the American dream.

“The Gadsden Flag”
