Chronicles Premieres Thursday, October 6 at 8pm

Prohibition tried to shut down all access to alcohol. Lake Erie provided a path back to it. Get ready for the first episode of a new, immersive docuseries exploring the history of the Lake Erie region. Chronicles premieres Thursday, October 6th at 8pm only on WQLN PBS.

Throughout season one, you can expect to see a couple dozen television episodes on a wide range of subjects, such as our houses of worship, rum runners, Harry T. Burleigh, shipwrecks, our population boom, redlining, our lake, and so much more. You don’t want to miss this incredible new docuseries on WQLN PBS.

This project was made possible by Thomas B. Hagen, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and a Community Assets Grant provided by the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.

Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom (October 4 at 10pm) marks the bicentennial of the woman who escaped slavery, then risked her life to guide more than 70 people to freedom. Becoming Frederick Douglass (October 11 at 10pm) is the story of how a man born into slavery became one of America’s most influential voices for democracy. Watch and learn on WQLN PBS. And follow WQLN on social media for information about an online event with the filmmakers, September 28.
