WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On September 13th of that year, all charges of illegal entry to the White House were dropped against Erie Benedictine nuns sisters Mary Lou Kownacki, and Janet Goetz. The sisters were praying for peace inside the east gate of the presidential mansion.

This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. The new season begins next month and is available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app - Passport.
