WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On September 9th of that year, Edinboro State College announced plans to build a 4.5-million-dollar library. The new seven-story building would have two elevators and enough room for 450,000 books.

This Day in History is presented by the Emmy-nominated history series Chronicles. The new season begins next month and is available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app - Passport.
