WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On July 28th of that year, Thirty-five Erie teens were arrested at the Watkins Glenn Summer Jam for possessing small amounts of marijuana. The Erietes missed performances of the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and the Band.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, nominated for seven Emmy awards, and available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app Passport.
