WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973. On June 10th of that year, the Erie Summer Festival of the Arts opened in Erie’s new downtown transitway mall. The opening act was the Bethlehem Temple Choir performing an International Review.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, nominated for seven Emmy awards, and available online at WQLN.org and on the PBS app Passport.
