WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on April 22nd of that year – The Justice Action Committee of Erie met for the first time to protest the increase in police brutality against Blacks and Long Hairs in the City of Erie. The meeting, held in Perry Square, attracted about one hundred people.
