WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on April 21st of that year – Erie police investigated two strong-arm robberies. The first netted the thieves two dollars from 61-year-old Dorthy Hanson’s stolen purse. And the second was a dime taken at gunpoint from 60-year-old Patrick James. Both James and Hanson were unharmed.
