WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on April 19th of that year – Erie County cows were ranked as the third largest milk producers in the Eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania Federal Milk Marketing Region. Erie County cows produced between eleven and twelve million pounds of milk a month.
