WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on March 28th of that year – The Federal Communications Commission announced that it would investigate and fine obscene television programs. That night on TV, Erie viewers had a choice between Adam 12, the Paul Lynd Show, Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, and a Tchaikovsky/Wagner (Vag-ner) concert on WQLN-TV 54
