WQLN NPR first signed on the air in 1973, and on March 21st of that year – a ground-breaking ceremony was held for the suburban YWCA at 4247 West Lake Road. Harry Fish and Dorthy Hall Fish turned the first shovel of dirt.

This Day in History is presented by Chronicles, which is available online at WQLN.org and on PBS Passport.
