WQLN Hosts Be My Neighbor Day at Erie Zoo

Hundreds of children enjoyed a visit to Erie Zoo for Be My Neighbor Day powered by PNC Grow Up Great! Families in attendance learned about the helpers in their neighborhoods, and how to be a caring neighbor. Everyone received a WQLN Family Activity Kit and a socially distanced visit with Daniel Tiger on the Zoo’s main stage.

Each year during Be My Neighbor Day, Daniel Tiger pays a visit to our region on his trolley to hand out educational goodie bags and say hello. Be My Neighbor Day invites children and families to participate in activities that help care for neighbors in need. It’s a great way for children to understand how to support others and how one kind act can lead to so much more. This is certainly a grr-ific way to connect with our neighbors and celebrate kindness with Daniel Tiger, while honoring the life and legacy of Fred Rogers. This year we reached more than 600 children at the Erie Zoo on Be My Neighbor Day!
