Caregivers: For Our Aging Population
The number of seniors is rising dramatically in the United States. But the number of medical professionals and family members who can provide care for these older adults is seriously lagging. WQLN is proud to partner with
Highmark Blue Cross, Blue Shield
in this multi-platform project that includes a television documentary and digital-first content focusing on challenges for both the aging seniors and their caregivers.
Watch the Documentary
About the Program
Is the medical community prepared for the explosive growth in the number of elderly patients? Pennsylvania has passed the CARE Act to address challenges faced by caregivers. But will families ultimately get the support and education they need? This documentary focuses not only on our aging seniors, but on caregivers who balance love and obligation - with stress, financial woes and other concerns. It also features innovative local programs that are already in place.
