The Lake Erie Region has a story that must be told. A story of innovators, entrepreneurs, and business and community leaders who believe in the tremendous possibilities of the place that we call home. WQLN’s REACH INNOVATION Project aspires to tell that story, and to build upon a movement that has the potential to reshape our economic landscape.
Reach is a WQLN major, multi-year, multimedia initiative that represents as one of our most comprehensive and expansive business outreach initiatives to date. In partnership with Ignite Erie, the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, the Erie Technology Incubator at Gannon University , and the Small Business Development Center at Gannon University, our programs and services related to this initiative will have an overarching focus on fostering economic growth and business development in our region, while fostering ties to new innovative partners throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
The primary component of WQLN’s REACH INNOVATION Project will be the Reach Innovation television series, a quarterly show which will be broadcast by WQLN and other PBS markets throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Through this television series, WQLN will highlight advanced industries, businesses or entrepreneurs – from the Erie region and throughout the state of Pennsylvania – and their innovative ideas, solutions, and products, or their employment of new methods, cutting edge technology, or best industry practices. The Erie region’s assets, along with the viability of Northwest Pennsylvania as a place for businesses to partner and conduct business, will be highlighted.
Coupled with outreach events, the REACH INNOVATION Project will afford community leaders an opportunity to learn of the innovative entrepreneurs and businesses in the region, to discuss potential ventures, and to promote our region to businesses and entreprenuers from around the state.
