Sabin Streeter is an independent writer and filmmaker, specializing in documentary television. He is the showrunner, senior producer, and director of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (PBS 2015-ongoing). Recent projects include senior producing and directing the Emmy-nominated four-hour series Black America Since MLK: And Still And I Rise (PBS, 2016), directing and producing the first two episodes of the Emmy-winning six hour series Many Rivers to Cross (PBS 2013), as well as producing America Revealed (PBS, 2012), Fabric of the Cosmos: Space (PBS, 2012), Gloria: In Her Own Words (HBO, 2011), and the six-hour Emmy-nominated NOVA special This Emotional Life (PBS, 2010). Streeter is also the editor of GIG (Random House), an oral history of the contemporary workplace and a contributing editor of US: Americans Talk About Love (Faber & Faber), an oral history of romance. He has contributed to The New Yorker, Harpers, and other publications. He lives in New York with his wife and two children.

About Finding Your Roots

The sixth season of FINDING YOUR ROOTS features fascinating new guests who are game-changers in their fields, with family histories that illustrate the power and diversity of the human experience. Among them are groundbreaking director Jordan Peele, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, acclaimed journalist Norah O’Donnell, and legendary fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Some of the guests whose stories we will revisit this season include actor Julianne Moore, radio talk show host Joe Madison; and celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich. At the center of it all, guiding every discovery, is host and executive producer Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University and director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research.
