National Park Service, on
freedom and the quest for human rights
The
Underground Railroad is a story that has international significance.
It’s a reminder of the importance of freedom and the quest for human
rights and the importance of assisting people where we find them who
don’t have those rights. It is a story of inspiration, even today.
There are still people enslaved in this world and still people without
basic human rights who look at the Underground Railroad as a story of
hope. |
