The Black Stallion (1979)
The Black Stallion is family entertainment at its best. It's a beautifully rendered screen adaptation of Walter Farley's classic novel of a shipwrecked boy befriended by a champion racehorse and eventually becoming the greatest race team since Pollard and Seabiscuit. The film is rated G and stars Kelly Reno, Mickey Rooney, Teri Garr, Clarence Muse and Hoyt Axton.

Stormy Weather (1943)
The perfect film to kick off the Erie Art Museum's Blues and Jazz Festival weekend, Stormy Weather features an all-star cast lead by Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Lena Horn. They play a husband and wife show business team struggling to make it in ‘the bigs.' A special sound system will be in place at Frontier Park to enhance the great jazz performances. Two unforgettable songs not to miss are Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin" and Lena Horn's performance of "Stormy Weather".

Waking Ned Devine (1998)
To tell you that Waking Ned is a movie about a town hitting it big with a lottery win is just like saying that Raiders of the Lost Ark is a film about an interesting archeological discovery. Waking Ned is a hysterical Irish comedy which tells the story of all of us - loyalty, community, friendship and always (in the end) love.

That Thing You Do! (1996)
From the opening scene to the closing credits, That Thing You Do is a two-hour celebration of all things Erie. It's the story of the ‘64 Erie band "The Wonders" – a pick-up group who played all the Mercyhurst College dances before they were discovered by Phil Horace at Villapiano's (out by the airport) and went on to find fame and fortune with the Play-Tone Cavalcade of Stars. Pump up the volume – "Doing that thing you do . . ." The film is rated PG and stars Tom Everett Scott, Liv Tyler and Tom Hanks.

The Princess Bride (1987)
Experience a night of ‘true-love’ by scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, battling Rodents of Unusual Size, or falling into the Pit of Despair. The Princess Bride was an instant classic when it was released almost 20 years ago – and today it’s heroes, giants, villains, and wizards are just as fresh and entertaining as they were in 1987.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
The English have Shakespeare and in the U.S. we have the Western. Big, rich mythologies with larger-than-life characters like Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was nominated for seven Academy Awards and it won eight.
