Young Writers Contest
Do you know of any young budding authors eager to write and illustrate their very own stories?

Starting January 7, WQLN Education will kick off the local-national PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest.

This contest is a great way for students in grades K-3 to express their creativity while building the literacy skills necessary for academic success.

Judging will take place in April where 12 local winners will be selected (3 in each grade category).

Excerpts of the first place winning stories will air on TV-54.1, receive a free WQLN Kids Club membership, and have their stories entered into the national contest with a chance to win great prizes, including tablets, e-readers, and MP3 players.

Everyone's a winner!
All local winners will see their entire story on wqln.org, and all entrants will receive a complimentary issue of Highlights magazine.

A reception honoring the local winners will be held in May. The deadline to submit a story is March 29.
