The Use of Internet and Research in Social Studies
As adults most of us talk about travel, politics and money.  We watch the news to find out what is happening and make comments on the world around us. We talk about the things people do and why they do them--this is Social Studies, and through this workshop participants will explore how to make this connection with their students.  They will learn how the internet can be merged into the classroom for projects, reinforcement and research.  They will learn how to integrate research skills and upper level thinking skills into their Social Studies curriculum, and finally come away with a better understanding of what makes a good web site for research purposes.  Unit plan ideas will also be explored.
