To escape from
slavery was no easy task. You could have your ear cut off if you were
caught. Bloodhounds pursued with a vengeance. Obstacles emerged at
every turn – in the forest, over mountains, or on the open road. But
once you reached the shores of Lake Erie, you knew you had almost made
it. And with the help of a few good people, you did.
