"How to be a Good Friend" Royal Art Contest

'How to be a Good Friend' Royal Art Contest WQLN Education and The Ophelia Project partnered to hold a Royal Art Contest for students in grades Pre-K through 6th grade. Students were to submit an 8 1/2 by 11 coloring drawing showing what they thought it meant to be a good friend. WQLN received over 630 entries for this contest, more than we have ever received for a contest! Judges from The Ophelia Project and WQLN picked three winners from each grade group and one grand prize winner.

The contest was centered around The Ophelia Project's 10th anniversary dinner, with featured guest Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. All twelve winners' art work was featured at the anniversary dinner. The winner's were also invited to a party at The Ophelia Project where they received their prizes and certificates.

Featured below are photos from the winner's party on November 10, 2007.
