The Young Writers & Illustrators Contest Guide was created for adults to use with children. The Guide provides children with a series of simple steps they can follow to produce a story and accompanying illustrations.

Every year students write essays to nominate teachers who have impacted their lives. Entries are judged for content, grammar, creativity and focus. Winning students are presented with a $500 scholarships while the teachers are presented with awards from WQLN and PSEA.

WQLN has opened its studio doors for a town hall meeting about life with cancer. Cancer affects everyone, the young and old, the rich and poor, men, women and children. Cancer patients and their families deal with many challenges that can make them feel overwhelmed and scared. This is an opportunity for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer to come together, share our experiences, and strengthen our network of support.

The 2nd Annual Corporate Spelling Bee will take place on April 1st at Jr’s Last Laugh Comedy Club. The fundraiser for WQLN Education and Books for Kids starts at 7:00pm and tickets should be purchased through Jr’s in advance. Call Jr’s at 461-0911 for reservations, tickets are just $10 each!
