Kimberly A. Fabrizio, Director of Educational Services for WQLN & Q-MultiMedia
Kimberly A. Fabrizio is the Educational Services Director for WQLN Public Broadcasting of Northwest Pennsylvania (PBS). Kim holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Communication Studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree with the Fielding Graduate University, focusing on Educational Leadership and Change, with a specialization in media studies. Additionally, Kim is an Advisory Board Member and Research Fellow of the Society for New Communications Research, a graduate of the Grantsmanship Training Center, Los Angeles, California and is a PQAS Certified Trainer through the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Key.
Kim's media career spans 18 years with direct experience in radio, newspaper, television and Internet. Her media experience focused on news reporting and anchoring, outreach, public relations, marketing and most recently education and distance learning via media. When she wasn't working directly for a media organization, she held positions which required her to work directly with the media. Kim's additional experience in education is a strong complement to her current work with WQLN Public Broadcasting and Q-MultiMedia. In her work at WQLN, Kim also provides extensive on-air assistance to both WQLN's television and radio stations.
Kim is the host of the morning segment "Ready, Set, Learn!" which airs on WJET-TV 24 each Friday morning from 6-7 AM. She is also serves as a high school writing coach for WriteAtHome, Inc. She has served as an adjunct lecturer at Gannon University's Dahlkemper School of Business where she taught undergraduate courses in Marketing and Organizational Behavior. She also trains local organizations in the strategic planning and team-building process.
Kim has served on a variety of Boards and community committees including: the Board of Directors for Perseus House and the Perseus House Charter School, Leadership Center and the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies Charter Schools and CelebrateErie/CelebrateKids 2002-2005. She is also a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is affiliated with the nationally recognized Coalition Pathways organization, is a Task Force Member of Erie's Promise, a member of the National Association of Female Executives, and a former board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Kim is proud to volunteer as a Citizen's Review Committee Member for the United Way, where she also volunteers with the "Success By 6" initiative. She is a Newspaper In Education national consultant and a former Advisor to the White House Office on National Drug Control Policy's (ONDCP) "National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign." Additionally, she is a campaign volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Kim was also honored as an inaugural winner of the Young Erie Professionals' "Generation-E Leadership Award" for helping to make Erie, Pennsylvania a better place to live, work and play.
Kim resides in North East, Pennsylvania with her husband Tom, who is employed by Peek 'n Peak. She is a “bonus-mom” to stepson Joe, a sophomore at Green Mountain College in Vermont and to stepdaughters Kim, a freshman at Gannon University and Kerri, a sophomore at Girard High. In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her Labrador retriever, Oboe, kickboxing and motorcycling.

Traci Teudhope is the Education & Outreach Manager for WQLN Public Broadcasting of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Traci is the liaison between WQLN's Education team and the community they serve. She spends her days building relationships with community partners, writing grants, developing curriculum, and planning outreach initiatives.
Her love for all that Erie has to offer has drawn her to volunteer for several other organizations. Traci is a member of the Weed & Seed Public Health Committee, the Healthy Youth Development Media Committee, Success By Six's Parent & Community Involvement Committee, PartnerSHIP for a Healthy Community, and the Young Erie Professionals (yep!). Traci has also recently been appointed as the Vice President of Books for Kids, Erie Chapter. Additionally, Traci facilitates family literacy workshops, teaches professional development courses, serves as an on-air personality, and tutors GED students for WQLN.
Traci is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree at Mercyhurst College in Organizational Leadership with a special focus on non-profit management. She is a graduate of Bethany College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. While attending Bethany, Traci developed an interest in children's television programming as she produced Chatterbox, a show focused on issues that directly affect children.
After graduation she returned to her hometown and dove into the world of education, working as an education reporter for the Star Beacon Newspaper in Ashtabula, Ohio. During this time she was able to bring together two of her greatest loves, children and writing. In addition to writing articles about educational undertakings within the community, Traci was able to serve as a mentor to local elementary students. As part of the Newspapers In Education program, she visited classrooms to demonstrate how newspapers can help to advance literacy skills. She also led tours and educated children on the daily responsibilities of a reporter.
Traci also holds a strong interest in feature writing. During her time at the Star Beacon she published weekly feature articles in the Sunday Neighborhood section and on the Monday Schools page. She would take these opportunities to explore interests and take on great adventures. For example, one week her story was about a visit to the local airport and her first attempt at flying an airplane!
Traci also spent five years working in after-school care at A Kids Only Early Learning Center. She was excited to wake up every morning and walk into a classroom of 20 energetic children. Her appreciation for the power of media and her passion for educating children then steered her directly to WQLN. Traci resides in Millcreek with her husband, Jesse. In her free time, Traci enjoys playing softball, singing, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. |

Kathy Carducci is the Outreach Coordinator for WQLN Education. She plays a critical role in the delivery of WQLN Education’s outreach initiatives, family literacy programs, and educator professional development initiatives. Kathy brings more than 20 years of experience to her role within WQLN Education, primarily managing in the Information Technology and Banking fields. Kathy specializes in improving employee workflow efficiency by creating manuals, automating processes, implementing training programs, and reorganizing department roles and responsibilities. Kathy is a lifelong resident of Erie and her experience extends far outside of the office building and into schools, churches and community organizations. Kathy draws from her experience as mom to her son Brandon – the love of her life – and applies those skills and experiences in her work with WQLN. One of Kathy’s passions is to educate children and youth utilizing creative means, such as integrating music, art and even creative puppetry into her lessons as a Teen Sabbath School instructor, where she also oversees the development of the student newsletter. She is also one of the co-hosts of WQLN’s Ready, Set, Learn initiative, designing creative and engaging activities for parents of young children.

Jennifer Gibbs is a mathematics, science, and computer teacher at the Erie Day School in Erie, Pennsylvania. She has taught there for 2 years, and also works part time in a bookstore. Jennifer graduated from Edinboro University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and a teacher certification in Social Sciences. She is completing her Masters of Arts in Social Sciences at Edinboro University.
Jennifer resides in Cranesville, Pennsylvania, with her husband, 7-month old daughter, and their black lab.

Patricia Stickner, GED for Me! Tutor

Patricia Stickner is an employee of the Northwest TriCounty Intermediate Unit #5. She is a Transition Specialist for the SEGUE Project, Students Exploring Goals and Understanding Employment. SEGUE reaches out to 16-21 year olds who have barriers to employment; helping them determine strengths and abilities, secure employment, and practice independent daily living skills.
Pat has a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Edinboro University. She has teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Mercyhurst College and Cooperative Education from Indiana University of PA.
In her free time, Pat plays the flute in the Gannon University Flute Choir, is the athlete registration coordinator for Special Olympics of Crawford County, and belongs to the Albion Garden & Civic Club.
She resides in Cranesville with her husband, Bob. Her two children are grown and in colleges in Pittsburgh and New York City.

Carol Blount , GED for Me! Tutor

Carol Blount works as a Corrections Instructor at the State Correctional Institution at Cambridge Springs, teaching both Adult Basic Education and GED programs and an employability program to the female inmates. Additionally, she serves as a substitute teacher for the General McLane School District, where she has worked for the past 23 years. She is very active in the music programs at the school working very closely with both the marching band and the choral department.
Carol earned a BA degree from Penn State University in 1979 in Political Science and her teaching certification from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1983. She is also a certified chemical dependency counselor.
Carol resides in McKean with her two children, Amanda, medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and her son, Kyle, a music theatre major at SUNY Fredonia. They enjoy attending productions at the Erie Playhouse and following their favorite sports teams, be it high school, college or professional.

Amy Buechel is a tutor for the GED for Me! Program. She is also employed as an adjunct instructor at Gannon University, teaching Environmental Issues and Anatomy and Physiology. Amy holds a Bachelors of Science degree in biology from Gannon University as well as a Master of Science Degree in Biology from California University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to teaching at Gannon University, Amy taught at Villa Maria Academy for 6 years. Her courses included Biology, Neuroscience, Wildlife Biology and CPR Certification.
Amy resides in Erie with her husband, 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.

Sarah Falbo, Facilitator
Sarah Falbo earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and
a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from
Edinboro University. She began her career as a
Site Director for the YMCA and then taught 2nd
grade in Virginia. She has been teaching at the
elementary level, in the Iroquois School District,
for the past 11 years. Sarah also has experience
as part of the Therapeutic Support Staff for Bethesda
Children’s Home. She lives in Millcreek
with her husband and daughter.

Linda Caldwell, Facilitator
Linda Caldwell is working presently
for Stairways Behavioral Health as a Behavior
Specialist Consultant in which she creates behavior
plans for at-risk children to help them make healthy
choices and to become successful. Linda holds
a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling
from Edinboro University, as well as a certificate
in Advance Graduate Study in Behavior Management
Specialist and Character Education. Linda holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from
Taylor University, Upland, Indiana.
Being an entrepreneur for 20 years, Linda built
a 6,000 square foot childcare center in the west
county in 1981 where she created a licensed pre-school,
kindergarten and school age program through DPW
and the Dept of Education. Linda handled all admissions,
public relations, and programming of the business
until the sale of the business in 2001. Foreseeing
the rapid growing number of distressed families,
Linda pursued the masters of counseling.
Linda is a trainer for PA Pathways and has been
public speaking since 1997. Workshops including
Reactive Attachment Disorder, in children, Character
Education in the Classroom, Behavior Modification
with Children, Helping Children through Songs
and Games are to name a new that have been taught.
Linda is a trainer through Edinboro University.
Numerous writings have been written by Linda
and published, most recent in 2004, published
in Counseling Today. Other articles include Methamphetamines.
Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Self-Cutting,
common topics among college students. These articles
were published in the Edinboro University newspaper-
The Spectator. Various other writings have been
published such as Spoiling a Child, Tips to Parents,
and Helping Children to Avoid Violence.
Linda resides in Fairview, Pennsylvania with
her husband Mark, and son Stephen who recently
graduated form Messiah College, Harrisburg, majoring
in Business Finance, and
DeAnna, who is attending West Palm Beach Atlantic
University in Florida and also majoring in Business.
Linda’s oldest daughter, Megan was also
a business major and works for a local cooperation
in Erie.

Lisa Mulliken, Facilitator
Lisa Mulliken holds a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood
Education from Edinboro University and is working
towards Reading Specialist Certification. She
has taught in the Early Childhood field for 15
years and is currently employed by GECAC as a
Head Start teacher. Lisa teaches Directors Credential
courses on environment, curriculum, assessment,
leadership and professionalism. She lives in McKean
with her two daughters.

Mary Flowers, Facilitator
Mary Flowers is an Autistic Support
Teacher through the NorthWest Tri-County Intermediate
Unit. She graduated from Edinboro University in
2006 with her Master's Degree in Special Education
and graduated from Penn State Behrend in 2004
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Mary has developed a love for American Sign Language
through her work at Barber National Institute
as a Therpeutic Staff Support for children diagnosed
with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a facilitator
for WQLN, she has helped developed curriculum
for a Sign Language Workshop as well as acting
as a facilitator for the Emotional Families Workshop.
Her other hobbies include bike riding and running,
and she was recently able to run her first 5K
this summer in Erie.

Michelle Barbalaci, Facilitator

Michelle, who is married with two children, is an elementary
teacher and teaches because she loves kids. In addition
to elementary teaching she has taught and developed
curriculum for preschool as well as summer youth programs
for teenagers. She has recently moved to Pennsylvania
from North Carolina. Her employment at WQLN has been
challenging and rewarding. Michelle spends a lot of
time reading, enjoys decorating and being with her growing
children - driving them to meetings, games, practices
and friends' homes.

Lynn Clint earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics and Master of Arts in Food and Nutrition from Kent State University. She was employed by Ohio State University as Cooperative Extension Agent in Morgan County Ohio for 10 years and as the Canfi eld Area Extension Agent for 2 years. Following her marriage, she moved to Erie County and served as an Extension Agent in Family Living 2 years before going into "semi-retirement" to raise and home school her 5 children. During her time at home, she taught classes for Ashtabula County Extension and co-authored a weekly food column for the Erie Times-News. After 17 years at home, she returned to Penn State Cooperative Extension in Erie County serving as the Better Kid Care Coordinator and as a TQAS Certifi ed Trainer through Pennsylvania Pathways. She presently holds the position as part-time Extension Educator in Family and Consumer Science.

Becky Dugan currently teaches Kindergarten at Wesleyville Elementary School in the Iroquois School District. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Gannon University. She has also completed a Masters of Education with certification in Elementary School Administration, from Edinboro University. During her thirteen years in education, she has written grants to host Family Math Nights at her school and has conducted multiple workshops. Becky is presently pursuing a Masters of Education in Instruction and Curriculum from Gannon University. She resides in Erie with her husband, Sean, and their two daughters.

Bonnie Goring, Facilitator
Bonnie Goring has been working as a software specialist for over 20 years. She has focused primarily on the Microsoft Offce suite of programs; Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. She has supported these types of programs while working in manufacturing companies including Elgin Electronics, Lord Corporation, and The Plastek Group.
Bonnie has been training adults in the use of PC software products for over 16 years. She provided classroom instruction for The American Institute of Banking in Oil City, Gannon CIE/CIM Center, MHC Computers and The Plastek Group, and worked as a private consultant for local companies including Lord Corporation, Russell's of Waterford, Waterford Tire, One Day Decorating, etc., and private entities. Bonnie received her Associate of Computer Science degree from Edinboro University. She has taken various continuing education courses and is a Certified Lotus Notes Professional.

Elise Graham, Facilitator
Elise Graham is a certified Reading Specialist with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Reading from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Elise taught 2nd grade in Cecil County, Maryland for six years before moving back to her hometown of Edinboro. Since her return, she has been a "full-time Mom" who is an active volunteer at her son's school and serves on the PTA's Executive Board. In addition, Elise has worked part-time for the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit as a Project Enhance Instructor where she taught an 8th grade course titled Creative Problem Solving. She currently resides in McKean with her husband, Luke, and their two children, Aidan and Olivia.

Ingrid Holmes, Facilitator
Ingrid is a graduate of Mercyhurst College with a BA in French and a teaching
certificate in secondary education. Although Ingrid has worked in the financial
aspect of manufacturing operations for the past 20 years, she has always been
interested in teaching. Working with the F.A.M.I.L.I.E.S. Literacy program at WQLN
has given her the opportunity to again work with kids and their parents. Being
a mother of 4 children (Steve, Serina, Corina and Adinna) and 2 step-children
(Chad and Amanda) she realizes the importance of training children at an early
age in reading well. Her association with WQLN has also benefited her in that she has taken advantage of the
many programs offered at WQLN to advance her knowledge in both the technology field and the many fields
of knowledge taught through the station's educational TV programming.

Robin Howell, Facilitator

Robin Howell received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education
Degrees at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She was a substitute teacher
for 10 years in the Penncrest School District and has been a Home School
Evaluator for many years.
Since 1999, she has worked in the early childhood field and has worked
with KinderCare Learning Centers for almost three years. She started as
the Kindergarten teacher for KinderCare #1279 and has become the tutorial instructor for Hooked On
Phonics, Hooked On Math, and Muzzy (Spanish program). Robin currently works as a Program Specialist for
KinderCare.
Robin has lived with her husband, Jerry, for twenty years. They currently reside in Centerville, Pa. As foster
parents, they care for two children, 10-year-old Andre and 7-year-old Anasjae of Pittsburgh.

Sue Johnson is a kindergarten teacher at Wesleyville Elementary School.
She received a B.A. in Communications from Penn State-Behrend, a teaching
certificate in Elementary and Special Education from Edinboro University, and
a Masters degree in Special Education from Edinboro University. Sue has been married to her husband, Carl, for 17 years and has two wonderful children—Sarah and Ryan. Sue is excited
to be a part of the WQLN team! She has a passion for developing early literacy skills in young children, and
through WQLN's F.A.M.I.L.I.E.S. program, is now able to pass that information on to their families as well.

Joni graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. She has worked with children
for several years in organizations such as Boys and Girls Club and local YMCA
centers. Working with children is Joni's passion. Her full time job is raising her
three beautiful children.

Ellen Macie, Facilitator
Originally from rural southeastern Ohio, Ellen studied mechanical drafting for
two years at the Belmont Career Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio. She also studied
American Sign Language at Allegheny Community College in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. After the birth of her son, Ethan who is now 10, her interests
shifted more toward Education and Early Child Care. She spent three years as a
nanny to preschool children and has spent countless hours teaching Bible study
courses to children and adults. She has spent the last two years learning the Bosnian language in an effort
to help immigrants benefit from Bible education. She facilitates for WQLN's F.A.M.L.I.E.S. and Ready To Learn
Workshops for both children and parents. Three of her greatest loves - reading, language and children – are
brought together in one very enjoyable job! She lives in Erie with her husband, Ed, and son, Ethan.

Arlene McMahon is the proud mother of a two-year-old son. Everyday is a
new learning experience! She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Edinboro
University in Elementary & Early Childhood Education. Arlene was a substitute
teacher for various districts within Erie County for five years before entering
the child care field. She became the preschool teacher at Robison Child Care
and worked her way to director within one year. She has been working with the Keystone Stars program to
improve the quality of care given and is an advocate for higher child care wages and health benefits.

Jennifer McNellie, Facilitator

Jennifer McNellie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from
Fairmont State College in WV and her Master of Arts degree in Counseling
from West Virginia University. She spent six years working as an Elementary
and Secondary counselor for the North East School District. While at North
East, she served as the Vocational Technical Counselor, the Student Assistance
Program Coordinator, the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Coordinator and the Community Service Program
Coordinator. Recently, Jennifer became a Certified Trainer for the Department of Public Welfare through
Pennsylvania Pathways. McNellie wrote and received several grants for various programs including Safe and
Drug Free Schools, Ameri-Corps and School-to-Work. She is currently working with the Muscular Dystrophy
Association as a counseling group facilitator. Jennifer McNellie resides in Erie with her husband, two sons and
baby daughter.

Sandra has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Early Childhood
Education at Villa Maria College. She has also earned her Master's Equivalency.
She has taught in the Early Childhood field for 19 years. She has been a member
of the local, state and international reading affliations as well as NAEYC. She has
also been nominated for the Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has facilitated workshops for WQLN's Family Literacy
Workshops. She has also taught various professional development workshops in the Fatica Learning Center
and the Child Growth and Development component to the DCC certificate program.

Mary Neville earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special
Education from Duquesne University. In addition, she obtained a Masters
of Education in Reading and Reading Specialist Certification from Edinboro
University. She spent many years teaching in the Millcreek Township School District, Erie, PA in a variety of capacities at the elementary and middle school levels. In Millcreek Township,
Mary served as a Learning Support teacher, third grade teacher, Reading teacher, and Schoolwide Enrichment
Coordinator. The proud mother of six children, Mary has been home-schooling her children through the
middle school years since 1997. Mary resides in Erie, PA with her husband and six children.

Currently, Mr. Peterman teaches English and Writing at Lawrence Park Elementary
School. During his years with the Iroquois School District, Mr. Peterman taught
Kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and sixth grade Science and also taught
third grade for two years at Holy Family School. He completed his student teaching
in Chichester, England. Mr. Peterman received his Bachelor of Science Degree
from Penn State University and is currently working on his Master's Degree in Elementary Administration at
Edinboro University. Other activities included his involvement as an Eagle Scout, coaching the girl's JV soccer
for Harborcreek School District for five years and intramural soccer. He planned and conducted an evening
family recreation program for two years also in Harborcreek, and taught Science for half a school year at the
Harborcreek School for Boys.

Kasey Smith, Facilitator
Kasey Smith is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned
a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Child Development and
Environmental Issues and a Masters in the Art of Teaching in Elementary Education.
While completing her Masters, she taught in a third and fourth grade multi-age
classroom at Falk School in Pittsburgh. During the past eight years, she has taught
kindergarten, third grade, and a K-12 Enrichment Program at the Iroquois School
District. She has coached several state finalist Odyssey of the Mind teams, values creative thinking and a
good sense of humor. Kasey has received additional training in Developmental Studies, Gifted Children and
Phonemic Awareness. She lives in Millcreek with her husband, daughter and two step-children.

Lisa Sorensen, Facilitator
Lisa Sorensen holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Edinboro
University and is currently working towards a Masters Degree and Principal
Certificate at Gannon University. Lisa began her career at the elementary level then
spent several years working with middle school age youth. She has been part of the
instructional staffat the Erie County Technical School for the past 10 years, where
she has held several different positions in transitional services, articulation and
curriculum development. Lisa has facilitated WQLN workshops on Sesame Street-
Behind the Magic, Mister Rodgers – What Do You Do With the Mad That You Feel,
and several family literacy workshops. She lives in Harborcreek with her husband
and 3 children.
